  • Affiliate Network:  ShareASale
  • Sales Commission:  16%

  • Niche:  Gardening
  • Auto-Approval?:  No

The Garden Tower Project is an incredibly interesting product for anyone interested in gardening.  Their product allows you to grow up to 50 separate plants in just a 4 square-foot area.  It is vertical gardening at its finest. You can find more information on vertical gardening in our niche review article here. This will be a pretty easy product for affiliates to promote due to its unique nature and it will help any gardening blog generate some great ideas for content based on the vertical planters that they sell.

Some of the features that you can use to generate content are the Garden Tower’s unique and innovative rotating design.  It works as an all-in-one composter and a garden.  This product is great for both gardening and urban farming blog niches. For more information on the Garden Tower Project affiliate program, you can check out my full review here.

The Affiliate Terms

Not only is the product good and unique but the affiliate terms are very nice as well.  Garden Tower Project offers a 16% commission for all sales through an affiliate link.  It is always nice to see a company reward its affiliate partners’ hard work with a great commission.

The tracking cookie offered by this affiliate program is just as good as the commission.  Garden Tower Project offers its affiliate partners a 60-day tracking cookie.  This is crucial for this program since the product is several hundred dollars and your readers will need a bit of time to decide on the purchase.

The 30-Day ShareASale Stats

The hits just keep on coming.  It should be no surprise that the ShareASale statistics are just as good as the affiliate terms.

  • The $284.90 Average Sale is great for a single product partner program and this gives your gardening blog a high-ticket item to promote.
  • The $27.67 Average Commission is right where you would expect it to be for this partner program.
  • The Earnings Per Click are very nice at $38.66 EPC

Closing Thoughts

This affiliate really is a must-have for just about any gardening blogger.  It is so unique and so interesting that it is worth applying for their program just for the content you can generate from it.  In addition to that, you have an outstanding commission and a long cookie.

There is really no weakness in this affiliate program.  You could build an entire section of your gardening blog around this single product.  Garden Tower Project is simply that good. Definitely check this affiliate program out for your gardening blog.

Botanical Interests Affiliate Program

botanical interest screenshot
  • Company Name:  Botanical Interests
  • Application: Sign Up Here
  • Affiliate Network:  ShareASale
  • Sales Commission:  15% For Gardening Sites/ 5% for other sites
  • Tracking Cookie:  60-days
  • Niche:  Gardening
  • Auto-Approval?:  No

Botanical Interests is an online retailer of some of the highest quality seeds and gardening products around.  They offer a huge assortment of vegetables, flowers, and herbs for your readers to choose from. They also have a decent amount of gardening products and tools.  From claw cultivators to seed starting kits they have got you covered.  But the selection of seeds is really their biggest draw and something you can really lean on for great content and promotional opportunities.

The Affiliate Terms

The affiliate terms for Botanical Interests are pretty great.  Starting with the 15% commission for gardening blogs. We love to see any commissions in the double digits for retailers of physical products as they tend to be lower than their digital counterparts.  A good start here. They also offer a 5% commission for other non-gardening sites that wish to promote their products.

The tracking cookie follows the same path.  It is a robust 60-day tracking cookie.  It is really nice to see longer tracking cookies as the trend over recent years has been for them to get shorter and shorter.  Kudos to Botanical Interest for giving a little extra length on the cookie.

The ShareASale 30-day Statistics

The ShareASale Stats are a bit of a mixed bag, however.

  • The $32.11 Average Sale is good for this type of retailer.
  • The $2.46 Average Commission is a little low given the average sale.  However, these don’t always line up perfectly for a variety of reasons.  In this case, the lower 5% rate for non-gardening sites brings it down a bit.
  • The Earnings Per Click are $3.94 EPC.  This is not bad but does show some vulnerability in the conversion rate.  You might need to do a little extra promotion for this affiliate program.

The Wrap-Up

A pretty good affiliate partner for anyone in the gardening niche.  The added 10% commission for gardening blogs is great and the long tracking cookie is outstanding.  The only real issue is the quoted EPC, but those numbers can be skewed from time to time.  Just keep an eye on it. Overall, Botanical Interests is a good addition to your gardening blog’s affiliate arsenal.  But might not be big enough to use the primary partner program.  Test it out and see how it converts to your audience.

Chelsea Green Publishing Affiliate Program

Chelsea green publishing title card
  • Company Name:  Chelsea Green Publishing
  • Application: Sign Up Here
  • Affiliate Network:  ShareASale
  • Sales Commission:  15%
  • Tracking Cookie:  30-days
  • Niche:  Gardening
  • Auto-Approval?:  Yes

This affiliate is a retailer of a great selection of gardening books and related subjects.  It is a bit of a departure from many of the other affiliate programs on this list.  It provides a different type of service for your readers and this diversity is critical when choosing partners for your blog to promote. Amazon also has a wide selection of gardening books, but these are much more specific and niche than many of the bigger mainstream publications.  Plus Chelsea Green’s affiliate terms are much more appealing than Amazon’s.

The Chelsea Green Publishing Affiliate Terms

Speaking of their great affiliate terms…

The commission for the partner program is outstanding.  They offer a 15% commission for all qualifying sales through their partner’s affiliate links.  Once again we see a great double-digit commission in the gardening niche. Moving on to the cookie we find a standard 30-day tracking cookie.  This is probably the most common duration for a tracking cookie these days.  It is long enough for an affiliate program like this one since the prices of their products are not super high.

ShareASale Statistics

Next up is the ShareASale Statistics

These look good and are right where they should be given the terms.

  • The $32.55 Average Sale is pretty good for a gardening bookseller.
  • The average commission is $4.88, which lines up well with the commission percentage and the average sale.
  • A very nice earning per click of $11.89 EPC.

The Wrap-Up

This affiliate partner can really add some diversity to your partner program lineup.  Their huge selection of gardening books is fantastic.  They have many how-to guides to gardening that your readers can use to improve their gardens. As a blogger, these books can be very helpful to you as well.  They can provide you with many ideas and concepts that you can incorporate into your own content.  This will add to the promotion of the books supplied by the affiliate partner.

Classy Groundcovers Affiliate Program

classy title card
  • Company Name:  Classy Groundcovers
  • Application: Sign Up Here
  • Affiliate Network:  ShareASale
  • Sales Commission:  25%
  • Tracking Cookie:  90-days
  • Niche:  Gardening
  • Auto-Approval?:  Yes

If you need flowers and plants then this is the affiliate for you.  This is a must-have for any gardening blog.  Their selection of plants is unrivaled.  They have wonderful photos of each plant that show you exactly how they look. Their products can be bought in bulk which means higher prices and better commissions.  It is the ideal affiliate partner for a gardening blog that focuses on flowers as opposed to food or herbs.  They have fast free shipping which you can use to help with promotion.

And you can use their features such as the packaging of their plants to really bring home the conversions.  Each plant they sell is a potential gold mine for new content for your blog.  You could write an article detailing the pluses and minus of each plant in their stock.

I cannot say enough good things about this affiliate program. But one last this is this. They offer auto-approval through ShareASale.  This means you can jump right in and start promoting them.  Often affiliates will want to see great traffic numbers and other metrics before allowing you to join their program.

There are some compelling reasons for that, but it is always nice to see a great affiliate allow newcomers to join and get their feet wet while promoting their products.

What Are The Affiliate Terms?

The Classy Groundcovers affiliate program hands you one of the best commission percentages in the entire gardening niche.  A whopping 25%.  A full quarter of any given sale goes to you for your affiliate promotion.  There are not many physical product retailers that can even come close to this rate.

It doesn’t let up with the tracking cookie either.  It is equally as good as the commission.  Weighing in at a robust 90 days the tracking cookie will ensure that you get paid for your promotion of this affiliate partner.

A Quick Look At The ShareASale 30-day Statistics

Classy Groundcovers has some of the best 30-day stats I have seen in a long time on ShareASale.

  • The $159.87 Average Sale is absolutely outstanding for a gardening retailer of this type.
  • The average commission is $40.12.  A truly remarkable commission but given the 25% rate, it should not be a surprise.
  • The earnings per click are staggering at $65.24 EPC.

There really are no weaknesses in the statistics.

The Wrap-Up

A truly outstanding affiliate program.  If you are in the gardening niche you need to try and incorporate this partner into your affiliate strategy.  The terms are great with a high commission and a great cookie. The metrics look fantastic and the products are top-notch.  Their selection is great and you can turn their affiliate program into some great content that really converts into a sale for your blog.  There is really no downside to building an entire section or even a full blog around an affiliate partner of this quality. Highly recommended.

Soil Logic Affiliate Program

  • Company Name:  Soil Logic
  • Application: Sign Up Here
  • Affiliate Network:  ShareASale
  • Sales Commission:  15%
  • Tracking Cookie:  Lifetime
  • Niche:  Gardening
  • Auto-Approval?:  No

This is a smaller gardening affiliate program.  Soil Logic sells a few types of lawn and garden treatments that help with common problems.  They include drought defense to help when water is scarce.  A spray to help regreen lawn and garden covers and liquid gypsum that aids in removing salt buildup.

Similar products can be found at large retailers like Amazon and Home Depot.  But their prices are comparable and their affiliate terms are much better than the large warehouse stores affiliate programs.

Speaking of the Affiliate Terms

Soil Logic offers a 15% commission for all sales through your affiliate links.  That is nearly triple what you will get from Amazon and the product price is close enough that you can promote Soil Logic products with confidence. The cookie is where Soil Logic’s partner program really steps up its game.  It is a lifetime cookie.

Meaning that when someone uses your link you will get a commission when they buy something, whether it is that same day or 6 months later.  As long as the cookie is still active and has not been cleared from their browser. It is the best tracking cookie available and it is getting rarer and rarer these days so it is nice to see Soil Logic have this as part of their affiliate terms.

The 30-day ShareASale Statistics

The 30-day ShareASale Statistics are surprisingly good considering they only have a couple of products.

  • $65.79 Average Sale is higher than anticipated for this partner program.
  • The $9.87 Average Commission is right where you would expect it to be.
  • The earnings per click are pretty decent at $10.82 EPC.

The Wrap-Up

This affiliate program is going to need a specific promotion.  Mainly to readers who are having trouble maintaining their gardens.  It can also double as a lawn care affiliate program so if you ever branch out into that section of the home and garden niche you can take this partner program along with you. Give it a shot and if it resonates with your audience then you have some great earning potential with this associate program.

Blooming Bulb Affiliate Program

blooming bulb title card
  • Company Name:  Blooming Bulb
  • Application: Sign Up Here
  • Affiliate Network:  ShareASale
  • Sales Commission:  15%
  • Tracking Cookie:  45-days
  • Niche:  Gardening
  • Auto-Approval?:  No

Blooming Bulb sells a decent variety of perennial flowers and plants.  Promoting this affiliate should be relatively straight forward although you should really make it clear about the types of environments that the plants will thrive in. Writing articles on the individual plants and how they grow and react to the given environment should supply your blog with tons of great high-quality content that you can rank in the search engines.

The Affiliate Terms

Blooming Bulb offers a 15% commission for its affiliate partners.  Always nice to see a double-digit commission for this type of partner. The tracking cookie is a reasonable 45 days.  Not as high as many of the other partners on this list but it is still a very good one.

30-day ShareASale Statistics

The ShareASale metrics all look good for the Blooming Bulb Affiliate program.

  • The average sale of $43.78 is very nice.
  • A $7.17 Average Commission is right in line with what you would expect.
  • The earnings per click is a very good $14.07 EPC

Wrap-Up

A good partner program to have on your team.  The commission and cookie are both very good and the products are outstanding.  The only downside is that they don’t have a large selection as many other partner programs.  So using them as your primary affiliate programs might not be a great idea but as a supplemental affiliate, Blooming Gulb would accel.

Seeds Now Affiliate Program

seeds now title card
  • Company Name:  Seeds Now
  • Application: Sign Up Here
  • Affiliate Network:  None
  • Sales Commission:  25%
  • Tracking Cookie:  Not Listed
  • Niche:  Gardening
  • Auto-Approval?:  No

Seeds Now is a huge retailer of just about every type of seed you could imagine.  They have a wide selection of different herbs fruits and vegetables.  They also have a decent selection of flowers and plants for a more traditional gardening blog. The product selection is really something to see.  Promoting this affiliate should be pretty straightforward for any garden blog.  But their affiliate terms really add to this affiliate program appeal.

What are the Affiliate Terms?

The Seeds Now partner program offers its affiliate partners a 25% commission of r all qualifying sales.  This is one of the best commissions in this niche.  The products are not the most high priced but the great commission makes up for it. The tracking cookie was not readily available.  I will update you when I get an answer to that question.

Why Promote Seeds Now?

Because it is a great gardening partner program.  Really one of the best places to get seeds for almost any gardening blog.  Add in their fantastic 25% commission and this shapes up to be one of the best partner programs in the entire niche. Definitely give this a look.

AeroGrow Affiliate Program

aerogrow title card
  • Company Name:  AeroGarden
  • Application: Sign Up Here
  • Affiliate Network: Commission Junction
  • Sales Commission:  7.5%
  • Tracking Cookie:  30-days
  • Niche:  Gardening
  • Auto-Approval?:  No

AeroGradens are high-tech indoor gardening solutions that are really starting to gain in popularity in recent years.  They come in a range of sizes and prices.  So there is something for just about everyone.  Your readers will definitely find something that suits them. These indoor gardens are incredibly well made and can be used as content for your blog by reviewing them when you get your hands on a few of them to review and you can write about the tech behind the products as well.

The Affiliate Terms

AeroGrow offers a 7.5% commission for its affiliate partners.  While not the highest on this list their unique products should help mitigate the lower commission.  Still higher than Amazon, however. The cookie offered is a standard 30-day tracking cookie.  Anything less is always disappointing so it’s nice to see at least a 30-day tracker for this affiliate program.

Commission Junction Statistics

The earning per click is the only metric available if you are not part of the partner program and it is a nice 7-day EPC: $71.26.  The 90-day is considerably lower and is the one that is most likely to be more accurate over time.  The 3-month EPC: $21.44.

Why Promote The AeroGrow Affiliate Program?

Overall, this is a decent affiliate program for any gardening blog.  Their unique indoor growers are a solid product and could be used to draw in a more diverse reader, such as apartment dwellers who may not think gardening is available to them. A good partner program to test out with your readers.  If it converts then you have some solid earning potential. You will need to sign up for the Commission Junction Affiliate Network in order to join this Affiliate program.

Earth Easy Affiliate Program

  • Company Name:  Earth Easy
  • Application: Sign Up Here
  • Affiliate Network: AvantLink
  • Sales Commission:  10%
  • Tracking Cookie:  90-days
  • Niche:  Gardening
  • Auto-Approval?:  No

Earth Easy sells a variety of gardening products.  They have a good selection of tools and garden care products.  Their biggest draw is their raised garden beds.  These are particularly interesting for a garden blogger because of their novelty and they are quite pricey which makes for a nice commission. While this partner program doesn’t have quite the selection as many of the others it is still worthwhile due to some of its more interesting products.

A Quick Look At The Affiliate Terms

The Earth Easy affiliate programs offer a very good 10% commission for their affiliate partners.  While not as high as some on this list 10% is still a very good commission, especially given the specific products the partner sells. Their tracking cookie is an outstanding 90 days.  Plenty of time to earn the affiliate commission while giving your readers ample time to decide on the purchase.

Why Promote The Earth Easy Affiliate Program

A great secondary partner program for your gardening blog.  It does not have the inventory to really be the main focus but it will do nicely in the sidekick role.  Their commission is good and their tracking cookie is outstanding. Run some tests with your audience to see if this partner program really resonates with them.

Smiling Gardener Affiliate Program

smiling gardener title card
  • Company Name:  Smiling Gardener
  • Application: Sign Up Here
  • Affiliate Network: None
  • Sales Commission:  15%/50% on Academy Sales
  • Tracking Cookie:  N/A
  • Niche:  Gardening
  • Auto-Approval?:  No

This affiliate is a bit different from the rest on this list.  I try to get as diverse a selection as possible.  They are focused on organic gardening and fertilizing in particular. They also sell a huge number of different fertilizers on their website.  Your readers will almost always find what they need and the store does a good job of explaining exactly what each one does and what it is needed for.

The Affiliate Terms

The Smiling Gardener offers a 15% commission for any sales of their organic fertilizers.  A good commission to begin with but it gets better.  For their Smiling Gardener Academy, the commission jumps to 50%.  If the training academy converts it can be very lucrative indeed. The tracking cookie information was not available at the time of publication.

Why Promote The Smiling Gardener?

This affiliate offers something a little different.  It focuses on organic fertilizer so it may take a little more nuanced promotion but it should be a good addition to any gardening blog.  The terms are great, especially for their training academy. Give it a look if you need something a bit different for your gardening blog.

Plantboxs.com Affiliate Program

screenshot of the plantboxs website

The tracking cookie and the commission for this affiliate program are top-notch. The tracking gap is 60 days. This gives you plenty of time to make a sale and get a commission especially because the prices are not high-ticket items and you shouldn’t need a huge duration to make a decent conversion rate. Moving over to the commission we are greeted with a very solid 10%. Anything in the double digits should do nicely for most affiliates out there.

Why Promote Plantboxs.com?

Plantboxs.com is one of the few subscription boxes available for gardening. Getting plants delivered to your door as often as you like is going to have quite the appeal for some people and opens up some new potential customers to your gardening blog.

It might be a little different from seeds and gardening tools but it is something to consider adding to your gardening niche blog or even building an entire website around if you are just starting out. One last thing, this affiliate has an auto-approval option through their ShareASale.com profile so anyone can join as of this article’s publication. A great option for new affiliate marketers looking to get their feet wet.

Hoss Affiliate Program

screenshot of the hoss gardening tools website

The affiliate terms look great for this affiliate partner. According to their ShareASale profile, they offer a 10% commission and a 30-day tracking cookie. The tracking cookie gives you a full month to make a referral and still get a commission and the commission itself is going to be very lucrative as most double-digit commissions usually are. The only thing left is to get traffic to your content and build yourself a great conversion rate with this excellent gardening tool affiliate program.

Why Promote Hoss?

Hoss is one of the premier garden tools suppliers. From premium seeds to digging tools they have got you covered. It can certainly add a new wrinkle to your affiliate strategy especially if you have been focusing on the plants and seeds and need a solid gardening tools affiliate to add to your niche site. Add in the wonderful commission and tracking cookie and you are looking at one of the best affiliate programs for gardeners and urban farmers out there right now.

  1. Very interesting article one I will most likely talk about with my son. He is currently very active in the community selling seeds, running farmer market booths, and raising our own mini farms. I believe gardening affiliate marketing should be one that is quite successful, and a great way for small scale farmers to continue making an income when it is not growing season as planning is a year round project. Much success to all wanting to go into this niche! Nice job.

  2. Most of these affiliate programs offer really great commissions! (I thought it was really interesting that “Botanical Interests” offers a lower rate for non-gardening sites. I would think that they would just turn down any affiliates who weren’t relevant, or else pay the same to anyone who referred business toward them! It doesn’t seem very logical.) It makes sense for them to use affiliates. I’m an avid gardener, and most of these companies are new to me. That tells me they need affiliates to advertise for them!

    • Thanks for the comment.

The Botanical interest thing was a bit odd.  First time I have come across a commission structure like the one they set up.  Typically its only coupon sites that get lower commissions.

  3. I am a blogger and I have looked for affiliates programs to make money with and be honest I I’ve thought gardening would be one of them till  I came across the blog now  I am  now thinking of joining two of those gardening affiliates programs for know the potential here is huge and  people will never stop eating so the bigger the demand

  4. Thanks for this informative post. Everywhere in the world, government and scientist are preaching planting of trees for a greener and safer environment and as such people are using are more cautious if their gardens. Gardening is becoming a big sector gradually and from your post it is obvious that these garden affiliate programs are very profitable.

  5. Hello Michael

Shareasale looks like it has a lot of great affiliates to choose from. Great commission percentages with the affiliates you are showing. I love the way you have given me all of the important information that I need to make an informed decision. I am going to sign up with a couple of these affiliates for my new gardening niche. Thank you for all of your help.

    • ShareASale has quite a few good ones for this niche.  There are plenty more out there.  These are just the ones I felt gave the best cross-section of the gardening niche and still maintained good affiliate terms.

      Thanks for the comment

  6. Great article! Home and Garden is a broad concept, so there are tons of affiliate programs that fit the description. The article here are 10 of the best that I’ve also found helpul, but there’s many more. The most important I have found is to look at these affiliate partners and choose the ones that will work best for your specific audience.  You can jump to any single affiliate program in the table below and sort them according to their cookie and their commission. I am of opinion, that Classy Groundcovers Affiliate Program seems great as I had test it before, its fits gardening blog, they have wonderful photos of each plant that show you exactly how they look. I really love their offer auto-approval through ShareASale, as uou can jump right in and start promoting them. All of the reviewed Gardening Affiliate Programs are actually doing well. Is for bloggers to choose the best that suits their choice as I had chosen Classy Groundcovers Affiliate Program.

    • Thanks for commenting.

Auto-approval is great for new blogs.  Most programs want to see steady traffic before they accept your site.  That can take a few months to a year to get enough to satisfy some of the partner programs.

  7. Hey, Michael!

A truly insightful and resourceful look into the affiliate programs of Gardening. I had no idea such amazing opportunities existed when it comes to those. Such rewarding programs definitely make the Gardening niche a great and potentially very lucrative choice. Who would have thought?

I mean, Classy Groundcovers Affiliate Program by my books is purely stupid how good it is. Amazing stuff. Absolutely amazing, and very reliable due to the cookie time. Definitely worth the editor’s choice.

That Quick Look you provided is one to die for. Summarizes perfectly the most important aspects of the programs.

Overall such a great job. Well done.

And thank you. I appreciate all the efforts it took and all that behind the scenes stuff.

    Carpe minutam, my friend!

    Matiss

    • Matiss,

Thanks for taking the time to comment.  I am glad you like the quick look table, I wanted it to be quick and convenient.

  8. To be absolutely honest, I’ve really wanted to get into gardening blogging but at the time find myself not doing it because I was misled that it will not be lucrative and will take an insane amount of effort (more than the more popular choices) to make a living out of it.

This look at the 10 amazing ones clearly shows that it is not the case. Especially, that Classy Groundcovers Affiliate Program.

I have to say I was so surprised too by the commission rates. 25% is really high. By the way, I absolutely enjoyed that Gardening Affiliate Programs Quick Look. Helped to put them all into perspective more easily.

    I appreciate the insights, Michael!

    Thank you!

    Have a Wonderful Day. Rasa
