Few things are as futuristic as 3d printing. It is something out of science fiction. Building whole objects from base materials right in front of your eyes. It is an absolutely incredible technology. And it is still not mainstream technology just yet. That’s not great for your average consumer because the prices are still very high.
For an affiliate marketer, however, this is an opportunity. The best time to get into any niche is right before it explodes into the mainstream. It means that you can build your website without a huge amount of competition and build up the authority needed to become an industry leader in your given niche.
3d printing is poised for that explosion. Some estimates put revenue forecasts for 3d printing to hit 15 billion in 2020 and 35 billion in 2024. More than doubling in just 4 years. That is what I would call a growth industry. So with that in mind here are 7 3d printing affiliate programs that can start earning you some income while you grow your 3d printing website.
There Is Just Something About Owning Your Own Business. Being Your Own Boss. Building Something From The Ground Up With Your Own Hands. Especially When It Is This Easy To Get Started.
Anet Technology Affiliate Program
- Application: Sign Up Here
- Sales Commission: 10%
- Tracking Cookie: 90-days
This is a pretty new affiliate program and it is the best on one this list. Let’s just get it out front. If you are in the 3d printing niche then this is going to be your primary partner when it comes to the actual 3d printers.
They only have a handful of models but they are pretty spectacular and pretty pricey. They start at around 300 dollars and go up quite a bit from there. Capping out at around 900 dollars or so. The limited product line is made up for by their outstanding commission structure.
The affiliate terms for Anet Technology are pretty great for this niche. They have a 90-day cookie which is very much needed for high ticket items like 3d printers. The commission is also very good for the niche. They give you a full 10% commission on all qualifying sales through your affiliate link.
Great products and some fantastic affiliate terms make this one of the most appealing partner programs available in this blogging niche. This is definitely an affiliate you will want to have in your arsenal.
Advantage Business Equipment Affiliate Program
- Application: Sign Up Here
- Sales Commission: 5%
- Tracking Cookie: 90-days
The is a huge online store that sells all kinds of office equipment. This is not the type of gear you find at Office Depot. These are industrial strength office equipment and the 3d printers they offer are no exception. They run close to 3k. The downside is that they only have a couple for sale.
It limits what is possible for this partner in terms of a 3d printing blog. This partner would work great as a general office equipment affiliate program for a niche related to that.
The 90-day cookie is great to see. Given the price of their printers, you are going to need a very long window in order to close the sale. I would actually like to see it be a little longer. The commission is 5% which is right about where you would expect it to be for a product with such a large overhead.
Decent affiliate terms are the centerpiece of this affiliate program. They only have a couple of products so this should be used as a secondary partner program. The store itself is pretty great and they have a ton of other office equipment but their 3d printer selection is pretty small, at least at the time of publication.
Oz Robotics Affiliate Program
- Application: Sign Up Here
- Sales Commission: 5%
- Tracking Cookie: N/A
Oz Robotics has one of the largest selections of 3d printers available. They have dozens of high-quality 3d printers ranging in price from around $200 to close to $5000. The high-end ones are the industrial grade, high precision 3d printers and you can really tell the difference in the final product.
They also supply a ton of accessories, repair parts, and materials for your 3d printing need. This is a one-stop shop for just about everything you need to get your 3d printer up and running. As a result, you might want to start with this partner as your primary associate program.
The tracking cookie information was not available publicly for this affiliate partner. This happens quite often with individual partner programs. You will simply need to ask about it when you are accepted into their affiliate programs. The tracking cookie is an undervalued resource for affiliate marketers and hopefully more programs will make it available in the future.
The commission is a pretty standard 5%. This is slightly more than Amazon and it is a good commission due to the high-priced items that Oz Robotics sells. It balances out a bit. Still, you always want to see at least a double-digit commission.
This is probably the best affiliate for 3d printers around right now. They have a huge selection of everything you need for 3d printing and the commission is pretty decent. That is really the only downside, the commission could be a little higher, and you can easily make it work given the high-ticket nature of the products. Definitely one the check out when you are starting your new 3d printing blog.
Autodesk Affiliate Program
- Application: Sign Up Here
- Sales Commission: 9%
- Tracking Cookie: 60-days
Autodesk offers something a little different on this list. They don’t sell the 3d printers or the materials you need to create your 3d printed products. What they do have is some of the most trusted pieces of software available. In particular, they are the creator of Autocad. The premier computer-aided design software over the last 3+ decades.
Their software has been synonymous with engineering and computer design for all of that time as well. And this program is excellent and developing blueprints for 3d printing. This is where the design for 3d printing starts and that makes this one of the best partner programs in the entire niche.
As an added bonus to this invaluable resource for 3d printing. The commission and the tracking cookie are fantastic for this affiliate partner. The tracking cookie is 60-days, giving you a full 2 months to close your sales. The commission is great as well, clocking in at a respectable 9% for all qualifying sales.
This is a must-have affiliate program for the 3d printing niche. The software is great and well respected and the affiliate terms are very good. There is really nothing not to like about this partner.
You can even generate a good amount of content by reviewing their various pieces of software and looking at the history of the company in some articles. I think you will find a lot to love about this affiliate partner.
3D Printers Online Affiliate Program
- Application: Sign Up Here
- Sales Commission: 5%
- Tracking Cookie: N/A
3d Printers Online prides itself on being the number #1 3d printer retailer online. It is hard to argue with that claim when you see just how robust and complete their selection of 3d printers is. They have it all. This could easily be the basis for your affiliate strategy for your entire blog.
The high-ticket items are there for you to promote. They have lower-cost options that are going to have a broader appeal. They have all the major brands so you can promote them with confidence. This is some startup selling their own printers. Plus they have all the supplies you need to create your projects and repair your printers if the need arises.
Another independent affiliate partner has neglected to provide their tracking cookie. I don’t think some of these companies understand what an important resource having the cookie information really is. Almost everyone has the commission available but the cookie is just as important.
Speaking of the commission is a standard 5%. Given the prices of their products and the overhead that 3d printers have this is a pretty acceptable commission.
Another outstanding option for your primary affiliate in this niche. A decent commission combined with their outstanding products really puts this partner in a good light. Run some tests and see just how well this program can work for you. I think you are going to be very satisfied with the results.
Dynamism Affiliate Program
- Application: Sign Up Here
- Sales Commission: N/A
- Tracking Cookie: N/A
Dynamism is another online retailer of 3d printers. Like the others on his list, they have a wonderful selection of these remarkable machines. There is really no downside to the product selection and diversity for this partner. They have everything you would expect, the printers, the materials needed for printing, repair parts, etc. The issue here is the affiliate terms. Let’s have a look at the problem right now.
The commission and the cookie are not publically available for this particular affiliate partner. Although it is rare, this does happen from time to time. You will need to ask about the affiliate terms once you are accepted into their partner program.
This is not an ideal situation but the affiliate has enough going for it that I have decided to include them in this list despite the lack of information. They have the products and a selection of 3d printers. However, without the affiliate terms, it is really difficult to properly assess this partner program.
When you join you will be able to ask for the commission and the cookie duration. Anything over 5% is going to be great for your blog but until you find out exactly what they are offering this is a bit of a wild card.
Sculpteo Affiliate Program
- Application: Sign Up Here
- Sales Commission: 7%
- Tracking Cookie: N/A
This is something a little different from the other programs on this list. Instead of buying a 3d printer and building your blueprints yourself, you can get these products custom-made from Sculpteo.
It means that there is less overhead and less hassle if one of your readers wants to build something with a 3d printer but doesn’t want to invest the money to buy one themselves. They seem to have a good amount of packages and pricing options available for just about anyone who needs some 3d printing done.
the option is to promote this as a place to have products made that you can then sell as part of a 3d printing business if your readers are into that type of thing.
As an affiliate marketing professional, you always have to look for any potential opportunities and take advantage of them. Another missing tracking cookie. I am not going to harp on it at this point. Just ask for an exact duration when you sign up for their program. The commission, on the other hand, is pretty nice. They offer a 7% commission on all qualifying sales. This works out pretty well given the prices of their products. A decent commission combined with a unique business makes for a great potential partner for your 3d printing blog.
This is a secondary affiliate that you can promote in spots on your blog. I think you will find it to be a very nice resource to have for anyone looking to get a 3d printed product without all the hassle of buying and learning to use a 3d printer.
The Big Finish
The fact that I could only really find 7 quality affiliate programs for this niche shows just how young it is. The prices of these remarkable products continue to fall but they are still out of range of most of your average consumers. That will be changing in the next couple of years. Now is the time to get that 3d printing blog up and running.
By the time this niche really takes off your niche blog will have some good authority in the 3d Blogging niche and you can really start to make a good income. In the meantime, you can concentrate on putting out helpful and useful content while using these partner programs to pay for the website. It will only take a couple of sales to make a great commission given the prices of many of these 3d printers.
