The Cake Decoration Supplies Affiliate Programs
Without further adieu here are the 10 fantastic cake decorating affiliate programs that you can use to help monetize your baking or cake decorating blog.
What To Look For In A Cake Decorating Affiliate Program
When choosing a cake decorating affiliate program for your blog you need to look at various criteria to figure out which one is going to be best for your specific audience.
All-too-often affiliate marketers will simply look at the commission and pick the largest one and this really does a disservice to yourself and to the profit potential of your blog because there are other factors that you need to consider.
I usually look at five factors when I’m deciding on an affiliate program. The weight of each factor varies from Niche to Niche and Industry to Industry.
For baking and cake decorating the conversion rate commission and the quality of the products I think I’ll probably the most important.
With all that in mind let’s take an in-depth look at why each one of these factors is important when deciding on which cake decorating affiliate program you want to deploy on your blog.
The Cake Decorating Products Must Be Great
Products for any cake decorating for the program are going to be very important to the overall so that strategy that you want to use for any of these programs.
A lot of the products that you’re going to be promoting our animal products that go on top of the cake when you decorated or the utensils themselves that you’re going to want to use when you are decorating a cake.
Anytime that you are promoting a product that someone is going to actually eat or use for cooking you want to make sure that those products are safe and of the highest quality.
That’s why this factor is so important for these particular affiliate programs.
You’re also going to find a lot of products in the training category for cake decorating there are a lot of video programs and other things that you can promote to help people with their cake decorating.
So it’s important not to overlook the quality of the products that you were going to promote for your cake decorating supplies affiliates.
Always research the products will see what they’re made out of see if they’re made in a way that you are going to feel comfortable promoting them.
Then decide on which ones you think are the best and used at an associated affiliate program.
The Affiliate Commission
The commission is the most visible part of any affiliate program. It’s the number that the program itself will Tout first and foremost. It is the number that the affiliate marketer will usually check first as well.
But it is only a part of the overall affiliate program. I cannot stress that enough it is not the end-all-be-all of an affiliate program.
The other four factors that I’ve laid out here are very important to the overall health of a partner program. That being said it is an incredibly important part of partner programs.
I would say that along with conversion rate and the quality of the product you promoting the commission are the most important parts of the affiliate program by and large.
For the cake decorating niche, you’re going to need to differentiate between the products because the commissions can vary wildly between physical products used for actually making the cake decorations and the training videos that teach people how to do it.
Basically digital products light training videos tend to have a much higher commission rate than the physical products that the companies need to ship and store and all that other stuff that goes along with them.
So you want to mix the two together really. Have some content devoted to the training aspects of cake decorating.
Have some content devoted to the creation and decorating of the cakes themselves.
It might be tempting in this next to focus solely on the training video side of things because they do offer so much better commissions but that really limits you in the type of content in the type of traffic that you’re going to see.
If people come to your website looking for training for cake decorating chances are they’re going to want to buy the tools and products that can help them actually make the cakes at home.
If you don’t have an affiliate program for that than you were going to lose out on a ton of commission because you didn’t have an outlet for their purchases.
And that’s really the conundrum when deciding on affiliate programs do you stick with the really high commission ones with an arrow brand of products or do you expand your affiliate strategy to cover as much of the niche as you possibly can.
There are good answers for both schools of thought me personally I say expand your affiliate strategy as large as you can and create as much content as you can for the entire strategy.
However, try and work on one aspect of it at a time and don’t bounce around as much that’ll make your commission strategy much more coherent and ultimately help you generate better traffic.
The Tracking Cookie Duration
The tracking cookies in a factor in affiliate programs that is often completely overlooked not only by the Affiliates but by the program providers as well.
And that’s true of the cake decorating Partners as well. A lot of the ones on our list failed to list the track and cookie in their promotional material for their affiliate programs.
You’ll find this happens quite a bit and just not something to really be concerned about but you always want to look for a longer cookie if possible.
It’s not something that’s going to make or break an affiliate program most of the time.
Even incredibly low ones like the ones offered by Amazon are still going to get you some commissions but the basic idea is the longer the tracking cookie the better chance you have of actually making a sound.
Or the cake decorating Niche or baking Niche depending on where your blog is situated the train cookie is even less important because a lot of these products aren’t super high ticket items.
They certainly aren’t cheap in a lot of cases, especially the utensils and tools needed to make the cake decorations.
But they’re not in the thousands of dollars range which would require a longer cookie to really make partner program viable.
The Conversion Rate For A Cake Decorating Affiliate Program
The conversion rate for cake decorating affiliate programs is probably one of the most important aspects of an affiliate program that you want to consider when making the choice of whether to continue to use that particular program.
The issue with conversion rate is the only way to really find out what it is for your particular audience is to run tests using that specific affiliate program and then compare it with some of the others.
For the cake decorating niche, you’re going to want a pretty good conversion rate in order to really maximize your profit potential.
What that conversion rate is, depends on a few factors like the makeup of your audience, the style, and quality of your content and how will you run your promotions for their various products.
A good conversion rate varies wildly depending on who you ask but anywhere between 2 and 10% (source) is going to be pretty decent for your business.
Obviously the higher the better but you can always maximize your conversion rates for a variety of reasons.
Basically just want to do the best you can and get the highest that you can while also balancing it with the other factors of the affiliate program.
If you happen to get one that has a good commission and a good conversion rate then you’re going to want to hold on to that and promote it as long as you can.
The Company Behind the Affiliate Program Is Important
Another factor that I like to look at when deciding on an affiliate program is the company behind the program itself.
This might seem like a no-brainer to check into the company and see if they’re above board and if their products are any good. But it is often overlooked to some extent
And this ties into the other criteria that use about looking for programs with the best products. But this right here’s a little different and you want to kind of get an idea of the history of the company and the popularity of the company.
The big reason for this is that if you’re dealing with an unknown company you’re going to have to create content that’s going to get your readers more comfortable using that particular affiliate program because they are not going to be familiar with it.
This is especially important in the cake decorating that’s because a lot of these companies aren’t really well known outside the baking and cake decorating supply niches.
But most of them are very good companies and you should have no problem promoting them and convincing your readers that they are legitimate businesses that they should feel comfortable doing business with.
One last thing I’ll say about conversion rate is that you need to treat this like a business and not personally.
What I mean by this is if you love an affiliate program or a company that is not converting with your specific audience then you need to move on to something else.
If it’s just not converting with your specific audience then it’s just not worth your time to promote regardless of how much you may like it personally.
You don’t want to be emotionally attached to any of these companies or affiliate programs if they’re not working for you.
It doesn’t mean you have to stop using them in your personal life cast them out completely but for the sake of your business, you’re going to need to find ones that convert with your specific readership.
