Wasting Time Is A Sure Way To Fail
Affiliate marketing is a waste of time if you waste your time.
This might seem like a strange statement but it’s one of the easiest ways to fail at affiliate marketing.
Procrastination and wasting time when you’re building your affiliate marketing business is the biggest roadblock to being successful with this type of online business.
If you’re creating a passive income blog, for example, concentrating too much time on the look of your blog or the fancy fonts and graphics is going to set you back waste time.
And that’s because when we are building an affiliate marketing business using a passive income Blog the most important part of that business is the content.
The real question is how would you know this if you were just getting started in affiliate marketing.
Maybe you’ve watched a couple of videos or read a couple of articles on the subject and then think well I’m ready to go I got this all figured out.
You just going to be wasting your time, you’re going to be spinning your wheels because you haven’t laid the foundation of knowledge that you going to need to make it a successful endeavor.
Most new affiliate marketers give up within the first month or two because of this very issue.
They didn’t have a plan and they just went about creating their business in a scattershot manner which wasted that entire month of work.
What they did had no bearing on their future success and this is where a lot of people get the idea that affiliate marketing is just a complete waste of time.
Make Affiliate Marketing Worth Your Time With A Good Plan
The first thing you can do to make your experience in affiliate marketing worth your time and much more efficient is to come up with a plan for your business.
You need to decide on a lot of things before you even get started with your business.
The first thing you need to do is pick a niche that you want to be in. This is an area of interest that you’re comfortable creating content about.
Another part of your plan needs to be the medium where that content is going to be displayed. If you want to create videos, then YouTube is a great place to start your affiliate marketing business.
If you’re a good writer than a Blog Maybe a more suitable place for your business. Maybe you’re a photographer in that case Pinterest or Instagram might be options for you.
The point is you can’t just go create content with one place and then forget about another outlet for a while and then come back to it.
You need to have a plan you need to have your content planned out for at least the first month or two when you’re starting a content marketing affiliate business.
And the plan that you come up with is going to be crucial in your business being efficient from the very beginning and making sure that you don’t waste a lot of your time during the start-up phase.
Learn From The Mistakes Of Others
The biggest contributor to wasting time in your affiliate marketing business is making mistakes.
Some mistakes can set you back six months a year or even more depending on how severe that mistake is.
If you using Google organic traffic for the bulk of your traffic then a mistake with your SEO or your keywords or your content can incur a penalty from Google which can kill your website for months if not longer.
So how do you avoid these mistakes?
If you’re new you’re not going to know that these mistakes even exist.
The best way to do that is to learn from others’ mistakes. Find information online about people who have gone before you who are active in the affiliate marketing business.
And learn from their mistakes.
Listen to what works for them and then implemented them into your own business.
You can find these affiliate marketers all over the place. They have blogs and they have YouTube channels.
What you need to do as a new affiliate marketer is to choose the ones that you think you can trust. Choose the ones that you relate to and choose the ones that you feel comfortable taking advice from.
There’s a lot of great information out there and much of it is free. But there’s also some scammy crap that you have to wade through.
A lot of the free stuff that you find online is great nowadays.
But if you’re really serious about creating your online business you’re going to need to invest a little bit of money into that business.
Whether that’s web hosting and a domain name or a little bit of affiliate marketing training, you’re going to need to have a little bit of skin in the game.
It will help you focus on managing your time more efficiently and motivate you to put the work in.
Mistakes Still Happen
No matter how well you prepared or how much training you’ve got before you jump into your business oh, you are still going to make some mistakes.
These mistakes are going to cost you time. In some cases, these mistakes are going to cost you money as well.
Anyone has been in the affiliate marketing game for a little while is probably paid for a crappy piece of software that promises the world and didn’t deliver anything.
I know I have. On numerous occasions.
While you want to mitigate your mistakes as much as possible they are still going to happen and the best thing you can do after they do happen is to learn from them.
You can only learn from Mistakes by doing.
That might be the biggest reason why most people think affiliate marketing is a complete waste of time.
Because they sit on the sidelines and look at the amount of work that’s going to take to get a foundation built and simply choose not to do it.
What percentage of people are doers?
1%, 2%, maybe 5% at the most.
That brings us to the biggest reason why affiliate marketing will probably be a waste of time for most people.
Not Taking Action.
Not Taking Action Is The Biggest Waste Of Time
In order to be successful in affiliate marketing, you have to start right now. You have to take action as soon as possible.
Every day every hour that you’re not actively working on your business is time wasted. It’s the action takers that are successful at affiliate marketing.
And it’s not just starting we need to be in action taker. Once you get your foundation a passive income blog started you need to take an action every single day to keep that business growing and going in the right direction.
You need to find new techniques and strategies and taking action to implement them in your affiliate marketing business.
Taking action, whatever that action is as long as it benefits your business, is going to mean that your time is never wasted.
Even if you work your regular job and all you have is 30 minutes a day to put into your affiliate marketing business when you first start out.
That’s 30 minutes of action taking that is going to reap huge benefits in the future. It really is that simple.
You have to take action and you have to do it consistently for each day that you want to build a successful business.
Action Takers Win At Affiliate Marketing
Where can you get a good foundation for building an affiliate marketing business?
Where do you start?
Well if you found this article that you’ve already taken the first steps.
Now you just need a little bit of structure, a good foundation of real training that works that you can use to build your passive income business to its fullest potential.
The thing is there are no one-size-fits-all solutions to affiliate marketing.
For many people, it makes sense to just cull the internet for all the free information online affiliate marketing that they can find.
This is a great way to get the information you need and start building your business.
But you need to have a lot of time dig through all the different pieces of information that you’re going to get and then form it into a plan that you can work with.
Another great way is to buy a training course on affiliate marketing. This, of course, cost money but reduces the amount of time that you spend all looking around for specific information.
The issue with buying a training program or service is that it’s tough to tell whether they’re going to work for you or there going to be any good at all.
But there are some great ones out there, and I’ll give you a couple of recommendations at the end of this article.
The one thing I would caution against is the too-good-to-be-true programs. This can manifest themselves in a few ways.
One way I’m sure you’re familiar with is the over-promising and overhyping of the results that you’re going to get from an affiliate training program.
These a pretty easy to see coming and can be avoided by reading it just a few reviews.
Another way that these programs that aren’t very good manifest themselves what I called the dictator syndrome.
And this is just a cavalcade of overly positive reviews. When an absolute dictator wins an election they always win with some ridiculous number like 98% of the vote.
You’ll see this a lot with some of these affiliate training programs. Every single review is not only good but absolutely great. Every review is 98% or better it seems.
The program is perfect and nothing can touch it. It’s the only one that the people pushing that affiliate program recommends. their number one choice.
And everything else is just garbage compared to it.
You need to be very careful about these types of products.
If they have a free trial try that out and see if you like it if not you’ve got a really dig deep and find some reviews that give a good accurate portrayal of exactly what you’ll be getting for your money.
Because if you picked the wrong training program than you just going to be wasting your time for all of what time it’s you’re in that system.
