I want you to think about any product.

Any product.

Anything that you can think of.

You can turn that product into a successful online business using affiliate marketing. Seems pretty straightforward, doesn’t it. You find something you enjoy and produce content around it.

Whether that’s written or video. That’s how you start your online business. That’s how you start an affiliate marketing business. We’re going to take that idea. We’re going to take a product.

In this case, something as simple as chocolate.

I’m going to show you how you can take that ubiquitous little product, chocolate, and turn it into a successful online business using affiliate marketing. Then it can generate passive income for you for years to come.

Starting a chocolate blog is going to take a lot of work up front but once you get it started and get it flowing it’s going to be a great source of income for you.

The reason we’re going to be using affiliate marketing for this example is that it’s the simplest way to get started.

But that doesn’t mean it has to be limited to just affiliate marketing. Once you get your business up and running you can expand it in a number of ways.

You can Branch out and sell chocolates directly through your website. Or you can create your own chocolate and confectionery and sell them through your website or through other means like Amazon or eBay.

The start is the most important part. For that, we want to build an affiliate marketing business and use it to create an online chocolate business that’s going to be around for years to come.

There Is Just Something About Owning Your Own Business. Being Your Own Boss. Building Something From The Ground Up With Your Own Hands. Especially When It Is This Easy To Get Started.

How To Make Money Selling Chocolates

This is where we start.

This is the first thing we need to do after we figure out which niche we are going to start an affiliate marketing blog.

Finding your niche is the first then you really need to do. But we’ve already got one. We’re making a chocolate blog.

So now that we got that settled we need to figure out where we’re going to place our content. The two best places are in a written blog or on a YouTube channel.

They don’t have to be mutually exclusive.

In fact, the best way to get the broadest appeal is to have written content that is supported by your video content. Or vice versa.

So let us have a look at what it takes to make each one of these successful, as well as a couple of other options that you can use to help build your online chocolate selling Empire.

Building A Chocolate Blog

A blog is a place where you put your articles after you’ve written them and allow people to come and read them from around the world.

So you might look at it and say Well that’s going to take a lot of hard work in time to get that much content out.

And you’re right it will.

But not as much as you think. With the right collection of keywords and some great content, you can have your chocolate blog up and running with only 25 or 30 pieces of content.

You certainly want to expand on that after you get your initial articles written. But 30 articles is not a lot over the course of a couple of weeks or a month.

So in just a month, you can have the foundation of your chocolate business up and running and online.

It is important to remember, however, there’s not going to be anybody reading it for those first few months.

That’s because of the way search engine traffic works. You just need a little bit of time to get some Authority for those search engines to really start taking your website seriously.

There are a few ways to get some traffic in the interim but none of them will rival the amount and consistency of that search engine traffic once you get yourself up and running.

So that’s a Blog in a nutshell. Grab a domain, which we’ll talk about later. Get some web hosting. and start writing content.

Obviously, it’s not that easy. But it is that simple.

A Chocolate Niche YouTube Channel

A second avenue for you to start your online chocolate business is to put your content on YouTube. Obviously, the big difference in this is that you will be making videos instead of writing articles.

But the concept is largely the same. You want to create compelling interesting content that people are going to watch and then place your affiliate links in the description of those videos.

There are millions of examples of this going on every single day.   if you go to YouTube chances are you will go to a video with some sort of affiliate marketing.

The really successful businesses take those videos and in addition to having affiliate links in the descriptions, they put links back to their website in the description.

Basically, you’re taking a page out of the online corporates Playbook. You’re creating your own ecosystem.

You want to make content that people want to watch but you also want to keep people within your content apparatus. Either with another video or with a link to your website.

So someone sees a video that you’ve done on chocolate. You send them to an article that has more relevant information to what they’ve just watched.

Now you have a second chance to get them to use your affiliate link. It’s what most companies do.

Corporates want to keep people on their website or on their YouTube channel or in their product ecosystem so that you continually use their products at the expense of everyone else.

And you want to do the same.

Other Paces To Create Content For Your Chocolate Ecosystem

Another way to create content that you can put into your chocolate business ecosystem is through other search engines and social media outlets.

The best one of these is Pinterest. Pinterest is a visual search engine combined with a little bit of social media. Each pinned image is a piece of content for your chocolate brand.

It is an exceptional source of traffic, which we will get into in a later section. But it is also a place where you can put your affiliate link and generate affiliate sales directly from their website. New paragraph.

I would use it only as a complementary system to a YouTube channel and I written blog.

But it is a great place to create some content to help keep people in your ecosystem or to generate affiliate profits by itself.

You can also use traditional social media outlets like Twitter or Instagram to create content around your business.

But I find these to be a lackluster option because of the general nature of social media.

Social Media moves too fast. Once your content is gone, it’s gone. No one’s going to go back and look at it.

Whereas in a search engine or YouTube or Pinterest your content stays there forever and people can come back to it months years decades down the line.

There are still videos on YouTube that are 10 years old that still get significant traffic for their creator. You just not going to find something like that on Twitter or Instagram.

Content For Your Chocolate Blog

If you want a direct answer to how to make money with a chocolate blog or how to make money selling chocolate online. This is the section for you.

Because it all comes down to this.

It all comes down to Content.

Your content has to be great it has to stand out from the pack. Whether you’re writing content or creating videos around your favorite chocolate confectionaries.

It needs to be great.

Because ultimately it’s going to be this content that allows you to make money from affiliate marketing.

People will read your content they will begin to trust your opinion on the topic, in this case, chocolate.

Then you’ll start to build up an audience and they will start to purchase the products and services that you’re promoting.

That’s content. That is the beginning and the end of what you need to do to start creating that affiliate marketing business. You’ve got to create that content.

And what type of content do you want to create?

A lot of people who are new to affiliate marketing I want to just start turning out reviews and top 10 lists of their favorite products. The top 10 best chocolate bars for 2019.

I’m all this time supposed are important. These are your money post you have to support them with informational posts.

And those can be anything in the chocolate industry.   whether you’re discussing how to make a specific type of chocolate or chocolate treat. Whether you’re talking about the industry and how well or how poorly it’s doing at any given time.

Any type of informational post is going to be great for building a foundation with which you can build your entire business on top of.

The idea is that you take your informational content. And then link that content internally to your reviews and top 10 list and your other money pages.

This makes your website not seem really spamming. You’re not being overbearing by throwing a feeling that people on every single page.

What you doing is your building Silo content. Your money pages are the top and your informational Pages all feed into those few money pages.

That is the best way to build your content for your written blog.

For your YouTube channel, you want to just create good content. It doesn’t have to necessarily in a link with other videos in your channel but it’s always a good idea to do so.

Thing is YouTube doesn’t have the same rules as Google search engine. Even though they’re owned by the same company.

It’s much easier to rank on YouTube.

You don’t have to worry about content structure or a whole lot of SEO because they seem to just want to let anybody who makes a video rank.   and the reason for this is pretty simple.

Google makes a lot of money off the ads from the YouTube business. Search engine ads have been declining and YouTube is where they’re starting to place all their chips.

Keep this in mind though, YouTube is the wild west right now and there’s going to be increased scrutiny on the type of content they get put out onto YouTube in the near future.

For a chocolate channel, it shouldn’t be a problem. But if you are in a different niche you need to really watch what kind of content you’re putting on because there are new rules coming in Daily that will keep it from being monetized.

It is just something to keep an eye on with YouTube. The current model is pretty unsustainable longterm.

This Is The Type Of Content You Can Create For Your Chocolate Blog

Getting Traffic To You Chocolate Niche Website

Now that we’ve got our content written and our videos produced  We are up to the most difficult part of affiliate marketing.

And that is getting traffic to that content. There is nothing that destroys new affiliate marketing projects quicker than failing for months to get reasonable traffic to your content.

This is where most people just give up.

And believe me, most people give up.

Some statistics say that 95% of all bloggers will quit(source) within their first year. And traffic is the reason.

The problem with traffic is that most people go for free search engine traffic. And that is exactly what you want. this is going to be the basis for your traffic for years to come.

The issue here is it takes a long time to have the search engine start taking your website seriously.

Six months. Nine months.

Even a year or more to start getting real traffic to your content. For many people, it’s just too long and too much work to even bother with. So they give up.

I got a feeling that’s not you.

If you are here and you’ve read this long you’re an action taker. You have a plan.

And it’s the action takers the figure out how to get that traffic.

They have the patience to let the search engines do its thing and finally get the traffic that you deserve.

Fortunately, there are a few places that you can use early in your blog and career to generate a little bit of traffic at the start.

This is by no means a full replacement for the search engine traffic that you need to get for long-term sustainability.

But it will help you get a few little bits of traffic here in there and makes the transition over the first few months of your blog much more reasonable.

Alternative Traffic Ideas

  • Quora — Quora is a great little place to generate some traffic. Simply find questions about chocolate or the chocolate niche and answer them in a really complete and helpful way then place your link at the end of it and you can generate some good traffic from them.
  • Chocolate Forums — Forums, like this one, are an often overlooked place where you can get a little additional traffic. Many forms I won’t allow you to place your links, but some will and if you build a good reputation on them you should have no problem getting a little bit of traffic from those forms.
  • Youtube — As mentioned earlier, YouTube is a great place to create content they can direct traffic to your chocolate-related written articles. It’s energized as well with a written blog.
  • Pinterest — Pinterest is a great place to generate traffic for your website. It will remain one of the best places to get traffic from in addition to search engine traffic.
  • Social Media — As I mentioned earlier traditional social media isn’t a great place to produce content but it can help you generate a little bit of traffic especially early on. I just wouldn’t focus on it too much.

Monetize Your Chocolate Niche Blog

We’ve made the content we’re taking all the steps we need to get that traffic. The traffic is coming but we got to be prepared for it.

And that means monetizing our website. If we can get the traffic we can make money off at traffic. But we got to be smart about her monetization policy.

You don’t want to just spam affiliate links all over your website or have ad after ad after ad taking up all the white space on your blog.

So let’s take a look at three ways that you can monetize your chocolate Niche website. These are pretty straightforward, and ultimately you’d like to incorporate all three of them into your financial plans.

Three ways we’re going to monetize this chocolate blog are advertisements, informational products, and affiliate marketing.

Advertising On Your Chocolate Niche Website

And a pretty straightforward when it comes to monetizing a website. You simply sign up to an advertising Network and then place their ads somewhere on your side.

the most effective way to make the most amount of money from advertising on your website is to allow an advertising Network such as Ezoic or Adthrive to place the advertisements for you.

You can do it by yourself with AdSense or similar program but your revenue is going to be much less than with one of the premium ad networks.

The premium ad networks typically require you to have a certain level of traffic before they’ll let you into their program.

My advice is to simply wait till you hit those traffic threshold and then sign up for the best ones available.

Make Money With Chocolate Info Products

The next way to monetize your chocolate niche blog is with an informational product. These are a little bit tricky and they are certainly an advanced way to make money on your website.

But they are also one of the most lucrative ways to do so. An informational product is simply a course or an ebook or some other kind of digital product that you create and then charge a fee for.

What’s really important about an information product is it adds enough value that people actually want to pay for it. That’s really the key here.

It has to be something above and beyond what your regular content give people for free. Information products tend to only work four blocks have been around for quite a while.

This is the reason for this is because you have to build up a good rapport and a good level of trust with your audience in order for them to pay an extra amount for your specific product.

For a chocolate Niche site, there could be plenty of opportunities to make a grade informational product.

But, you’re only going to know which info product to create once you get a feel for your specific audience.

So there’s no one-size-fits-all info product that you can just apply to any chocolate blog.

You really need to dig down and see what your audience really wants and create your information product around them.

Affiliate Marketing In The Chocolate Niche

Last but not least is affiliate marketing. The last way to monetize your chocolate website that we’re going to talk about today.

It might seem a little odd to promote someone else’s chocolate products and then get a commission for it. But it’s not. It’s one of the most common ways that people do business on the internet.

Even places that you don’t think of like affiliate marketing businesses are doing affiliate marketing. Ever been to a website like Trivago.

That’s an affiliate marketing website. They are referring people from their website to hotels and travel agencies and other travel-related products and services and they get a commission for that.

That’s how they stay in business. That is affiliate marketing.

So don’t buy into the hype that affiliate marketing is somehow Shady business practice or not a real business.

Because it absolutely is and you can make it full-time income with just affiliate marketing and a great chocolate blog.

In order to make affiliate marketing work, you’re going to need affiliate programs.

Affiliate programs are the companies referral programs that you can use to generate commissions from the products that you promote.

You would be surprised how many there are four just the chocolate niche. In fact, we’ve written a whole article on Chocolate affiliate programs that you can find right here.

Now you want to find the best affiliate program for your audience and then place their links into your money Pages.

And that’s how simple it is.

That’s affiliate marketing.

Of course, you have to combine it with the content and the traffic and the patience in the hard work. Simple but not easy.

But that is affiliate marketing in a nutshell. And I can work wonders for your chocolate website.

Choosing A Domain For A Chocolate Blog

One last thing that’s important when creating your own Niche blog is finding the right domain for your business.

This is not nearly as important as it used to be. In the past, you wanted to have a domain that reflected some of the keywords that you were going to use in your content.

That is no longer necessary and in fact, it’s frowned upon by the search engines in general. So when picking a domain name you want to find something that is memorable and easy to remember.

Ideally, you want your domain name to be the same as the title of your blog or business. That kind of synergy really helps with the name recognition and helped build the overall brand.

For a chocolate website, you want something fun and interesting related to Chocolate but not too specific to any one type of chocolate.

The reason for this is you don’t want to turn yourself into a certain type of chocolate and in the future find that you really want to expand into others.

To pick a brand and find something easy to remember and fun and memorable and that will go a lot farther than trying to figure out what the best SEO domain for your blog is.

Just be natural and be yourself and pick a domain that reflects that.
